Building champions on and off the field since 2014.
"The mission of Cottonwood Football Club is to develop young men and women of character and integrity by cultivating their growth as soccer players and a life-long passion for the beautiful game."
Principle-based coaching that develops soccer IQ and technical skills. Everyone plays, everyone develops.
We develop character and integrity alongside athletic ability. Respectful coaches who players want to emulate.
75 teams competing across UYSA Premier, SCL, IRL, and X-League. Real competition. Real results.
Cottonwood FC was founded in 2014 in Cottonwood Heights, Utah, with a simple idea: build a soccer club that develops the whole player β not just athletes, but people of character and integrity.
From a small group of founding families, CFC has grown to become one of Utah's largest and most respected youth soccer clubs β 75 teams, 950 players, and counting.
Our home is Butler Fields, west of Butler Middle School in Cottonwood Heights. Every season, thousands of players, parents, and families make Butler Fields their second home.
We're proud of our annual Butlerville Days Parade participation and our deep roots in the Cottonwood Heights community β a tradition since our founding year.
At Cottonwood FC, we believe in building complete players β not just athletes who follow instructions, but thinkers who understand the game and love to play it.
Our coaches are trained to guide, not dictate. We avoid "joystick coaching" and focus instead on developing soccer intelligence, decision-making, and a genuine love for the beautiful game.
No position lock until older ages. Every player gets significant time on the field.
Players learn to read the game and make decisions β we guide, not dictate.
Minimal lines, laps, and lectures. Maximum touches on the ball.
Coaches build character and integrity alongside athletic skill.
CFC families are a big part of what makes this club special. Here's what we ask of every parent on the sideline.
Be the loudest voice in your player's corner. Cheer, encourage, and support β and let the coaches do the coaching.
Only positive commentary toward referees and opposing players. We compete hard and we compete clean β that's the CFC standard.
Development takes time. Trust that our coaches have a plan for every player's growth, even when it isn't immediately visible in game results.
Questions or concerns? Reach out to your Team Manager or coach directly β not through the sideline during a match.
Cottonwood FC is governed by a volunteer board of directors drawn from our club families. The board oversees club operations, finances, and strategic direction.
